Although the season is only half of the way complete, we would like to update you on the opportunities to play Summer Baseball.
On June 7th, the Rose and Downie Managers will meet to nominate and vote on players for traveling all star summer baseball teams.
The All Star Summer Baseball League is comprised of teams from Plymouth to Dedham. There are both A and B divisions at each age group in this league with approximately a 10-12 game schedule as well as playoffs.
This league will likely start on June 21st and end July 29th. Check out their webpage by searching “All Star Summer Baseball League” (ASSBL) to see the teams and divisions from last year. 2016 All Star Summer Baseball League - (Pembroke, MA) - powered by LeagueLineup.com
If the interest is there, we could have multiple teams at each age level, placing teams in the A and/or B divisions.
There will be a fee to participate in the All Star Summer Baseball League. This fee will be a one-time amount of $125. The full fee of $125 must be paid prior to receiving your uniform. This fee covers additional field permits, league fees, lights, field maintenance supplies, umpires, baseballs and uniforms. Players will be able to keep their summer all-star travel league jersey and hat.
Players selected onto the EMASS District teams may also play in invitational tournaments or the summer league at no additional cost to the district team fees.
Please understand that our league rule is that a player must have played in at least 75% of their Babe Ruth regular season games to be eligible to participate on an Eastern Massachusetts District All-Star Team (Exclusions: High School Games, School Events or Medical Injury).
IMPORTANT: Because the Eastern Massachusetts District All-Star teams are picked prior to the end of the season it is important to know that if a player is voted onto a team and ends up not making the required games listed above, then he will be removed from the roster and replaced by another player.
Please email the contacts below if your son is interested in the traveling all star summer league. We do not want to nominate players who are not interested in playing summer ball. Therefore it is important that you do reply to the managers or coordinators below.
